Poole Boat Hire
Poole Boat Hire required a refreshed visual identity to better reflect the relaxed, approachable nature of their offering. A key differentiator for the business is that customers can hire boats with no prior experience, so the branding needed to immediately communicate that, while still feeling credible. I designed the logo and defined a supporting colour palette that could be applied consistently across signage, digital touchpoints, and marketing materials.
The visual direction drew inspiration from coastal and surf culture. The aim was to create a mark that felt welcoming rather than intimidating, helping first-time users feel reassured before they even engage with the service.
Requirements & Result
The challenge was to design a logo that carried a strong message on its own, clearly reinforcing the “no experience necessary” proposition while remaining simple and versatile. I created a clean, circular mark incorporating nautical iconography and curved typography to convey calmness, trust, and flow, supported by a muted coastal colour palette that reflects Poole’s seaside setting. The final identity feels relaxed yet purposeful, aligning with the brand’s surfer-inspired tone while remaining practical for real-world use. The result is a distinctive, easy-to-apply visual identity that communicates accessibility at a glance and provides Poole Boat Hire with a clear, confident foundation for future UX and UI applications.
